Your local library

Players, game history, scores, notes, settings and saved games are stored on this device. You can play without an account or internet connection. Exported backups go to the destination you choose.

Optional account and library sync

Signing in with Apple uses Apple and Firebase Authentication. Tavern handles your Apple-provided name and email address, account identifier and device identifiers to connect your library.

Sync begins after you review and connect a library. It sends player names, game and scorekeeping records, drafts and notes, rules, saved scene state, and device and operation identifiers to Google Firebase for your account. Network services also handle connection information such as IP addresses.

The Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore SDKs send technical information about the device platform, operating system, app identifier and developer platform. Firebase uses this diagnostic information to understand SDK adoption and improve its services; its documentation says the Firebase user agent is not linked to a user or device identifier.

This service-level diagnostic collection is separate from your synchronized library. Tavern does not include an advertising, gameplay analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Firebase Authentication also uses connection information to secure accounts and prevent abuse.

When you choose to host or find a nearby game, Tavern uses local-network access. Invited devices receive player names and the public or assigned-player views needed to play. The host saves the match. Nearby connections are encrypted; they do not require a cloud account.

Sign out to pause account sync. In Account & sync, choose Delete account and confirm with Apple to remove your synchronized library and sign-in account. A deletion marker prevents older devices from restoring the removed cloud library.

Account deletion keeps your local games and scores. Deleting the app removes its device-local library; backups you exported remain wherever you saved them. System backups and service-provider records follow their own retention policies.

The family illustrations and other game artwork are bundled with the app. Tavern does not collect your photos or send them to an AI service. It does not request your location or contacts. Tavern has no advertising or cross-app tracking SDK. The Firebase service diagnostics described above are separate from gameplay analytics.

Public policy and support pages

These public pages are delivered by Google Firebase Hosting. The hosting service processes request information such as IP address, requested URL, user agent, response status and delivery timing to serve pages, prevent abuse and understand service usage. Firebase states that Hosting request IP data is retained for a few months. These delivery records are separate from the Tavern library stored on your device.

The current Firebase settings for Tavern and this public website also allow Google to use service data to improve other Google services and provide service-use analysis and recommendations. This provider setting is separate from your saved game library and does not add a gameplay-analytics or advertising SDK to Tavern.

Support

Emailing support is optional. We use the address, message and troubleshooting details you choose to send to respond to you. Avoid sending private player data.
